2026   January - February

• Annual meeting, Thursday, January 22 at 6 p.m.

• The men are invited to attend a fellowship breakfast at First Presbyterian Church of Newport on Sunday, January 24, at 8:30 a.m.  This event will include special speakers from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Gideons, and the Salvation Army.  Admission is free, but bring at least two items for the food bank.  Contact Chris Farwick (chris.air.3102@gmail.com) to sign up.

November & December

* Advent series starts 11/30 from Grounded and Growing

* Christmas potluck following the service on 12/8

* Advent weekly prayer meetings held in various homes 

* Christmas Eve Candlelight service at 5 pm

October

* Bible study with Paul Schneider on Jonah

* Women's Fall Potluck 10/25, 5-7 pm in the Fellowship Hall where we will enjoy good food, fellowship, and write Christmas cards for the residents of the VA home.

September

* Annual Woman's Fellowship Retreat at Colt Park including picnic, time of sharing & devotional. BYO lunch, chair and lots of enthusiasm!                  

* Wednesday evenings, starting 9/10, Bible Study: "Meeting the Spirit" with Pastor Mike. 

*Sunday, September 14, at 3 p.m.,see Tom Gallagher perform with the Nouveau Jazz group at Porchfest

* Youth Group kickoff for teenagers 

* DCYF Appreciation Event, Saturday, September 27.  

 

May & June

* All Young Adults are invited to attend a fun & games cookout at the Radiant Christian Church on Saturday, June 22nd at 1pm.

Prepare for our annual One Great Hour of Sharing special offering that will be held on June 1st.Are you a young adult who is interested in connecting with other American Baptist young adults?  Speak to Pastor Jake about Urbana!

*Are you a guy who could use some encouraging fellowship while getting back into shape? Check out the F3 (Fitness, Fellowship, & Faith) workout group for men at 5:30 a.m. Tuesdays and 7 a.m., Saturdays on the Common.

 

April

Wednesdays, April 2 through May 28: Women’s bible study at 6:30 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

Saturday, April 12: First annual “Brotherhood of the Angle,” men’s fishing derby and cookout at Barney Pond, Lincoln Woods State Park.

Sunday, April 13: Palm Sunday worship service.

Thursday, April 17: Maundy-Thursday bread and broth fellowship meal and worship service at 6 PM in the fellowship hall.

Sunday, April 20: Easter Sunday worship service.

*March: Wednesday, March 19: Pray for the pastors and delegates who will participate in a special business meeting to decide the sale of the Canonicus Camp

​*February: ​Bruce McGuire's basketball team from Gordon College will play at Roger Williams University on 2/15

*January, 2025:​​Pastor Mike will lead a six-week study group covering major views of the end times (eschatology) 

​* Men, mark you calendars for a bowling outing at Dudek Lanes in Warren, RI on Thursday, January 30, at 7:00 p.m.

December Advent:  2024

      Giving Opportunities:  An opportunity to sponsor children and families through the Angel Tree Ministry at the Women's Resource Center.

      Holiday Potluck: Get your best holiday casserole ready! Everyone is invited to celebrate the beginning of Advent by enjoying a potluck meal in the fellowship hall on Sunday, December 1 immediately after the morning worship service.

     Advent Sunday School: Meet with Pastor Mike at 9 a.m. from Sunday, December 1 through Sunday, December 22.

      Advent Prayer and Fellowship gatherings:  Meet together for in-home Advent prayer groups on Tuesday, December 3, 10, and 17 at 6:30 p.m. in homes of First Baptist members and friends around Bristol.

      Christmas Eve Candlelight Service:   Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to celebrate the birth of Christ at 6:30 p.m. for a candlelight service that will include scripture readings and Christmas carols.
